Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

SunLine Transit Agency continues to take preventative steps in response to COVID-19. We are working closely with the Riverside County Medical Health Department Operations Center (MH DOC) and monitoring information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Face Covering Encouraged

SunLine encourages the use of face coverings.  Face covering means material covering the nose and mouth (with no visible holes) of an individual, excluding face shields.

Fares & Front Door Boarding

Fare collection resumed on May 2, 2021. Passengers are asked to board through the front door.

Enhanced Cleaning

SunLine has adopted recommendations from the CDC on enhanced cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting procedures. SunLine has also gone beyond those recommendations by implementing a second-stage disinfectant. The following procedures are currently in place:

Buses and Paratransit Vehicles

Regular Cleanings

Each vehicle receives regular cleanings, which include disinfecting high-touch surfaces (stanchions, hand holds, and fareboxes).

Additional Disinfectant Procedures

The entire bus is fogged with disinfectant with the HVAC operating, in accordance with the manufacturers' recommended dilution ratio.

Bus Stops

After pressure-washing, the entire bus stop shelter and pavement are sprayed with disinfectant using a hand-pump sprayer.

Tips for Riders

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow, not your hand. Alternatively, cough or sneeze into a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch objects and surfaces
  • Riders should practice social distancing whenever possible. Social distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness
